明治に政商として富を築いた敷島財閥の関連企業の一つ。創業当時は主に造船業を営んでいたが、後に航空事業も展開した。戦時中は兵器製造を中心に行い、戦後は家電からロケットまで製造する世界的な機械メーカー。

A business affiliated with Shikishima Conglomerate. The conglomerate has political ties and grew to its large size during the Meiji era. They started off their business mainly with shipbuilding, but afterward entered the air transportation sector. During the war they focused on weapons production, and post-war they became a world famous machinery maker that makes everything from household electronics to rockets.
